In recent days, the case of the leakage of ‘journalists’ personal data present at E3 2019 has taken the stand. In fact, the organizer has mistakenly published an excel file containing all the information of the members of the press who attended the event.
Game Industry reports a rumor that adds further elements of concern for the story, given that it appears that the data of the participants of the 2018 edition of the Los Angeles event have also been leaked, including precisely, name, surname, email address, number of telephones and sometimes even home address.
The leak was even discovered last year, and the source said it had also informed the ESA about it, without getting an answer. According to allegations, the list would be available until very recently and presumably was then removed when there was the scandal related to ‘ E3 2019.
Not only that, together with the infamous list of participants this year and that of journalists present at E3 2018, it seems that those relating to the 2004 and 2006 editions are also available. The data of more than 8,000 people made public domain without authorization is discussed. In short, a harsh blow to privacy and above all to the image of the organizing body of the event.
What do you think of the situation?
