Almost six years after the original publication, Grand Theft Auto V continues inexorably to tower over the worldwide sales charts. It has recently been confirmed that the open world of Rockstar Games was the most sold game in the UK during the first half of 2019.
The ranking diffused by Video Game Chronicles tells us of a suffered victory by GTA 5 against FIFA 19, which closes in the second position with a few lengths. Ubisoft had confirmed that in this time Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 had sold the largest number of copies worldwide, while in the United Kingdom alone it satisfied with third place, preceding Red Dead Redemption 2 and Resident Evil 2. Below are the ten most successful games in the UK in the first half of the year:
- Grand Theft Auto V (361.312)
- FIFA 19 (360,588)
- Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 (263.520)
- Red Dead Redemption 2 (259.931)

Consumers in the United Kingdom have invested a total of £1.56 billion in games in the first half of 2019, with an increase in spending of 1% on an annual basis. Figures that alone almost reach national combined spending on video (£1.07 billion) and music (£673 million).

Grand Theft Auto V has recently reached 110 million copies sold generating the beauty of 6 billion dollars in the cases of Rockstar Games and Take-Two, an absolute record for the history of the entire entertainment sector.
