The new astronomical coordinates given to us by Gearbox Software allow us to observe in detail the biomes of Athenas, one of the numerous alien planets that will be the backdrop for the explosive adventure of the Borderlands Crypt Hunters 3.
The images and gameplay scenes immortalized by the developers following Randy Pitchford show us extremely evocative settings, with villages winding through a mountain landscape and fortresses stylistically inspired by Japanese art and architecture.
The peaceful appearance of these alien scenarios, however, will only be apparent: the ancient temples of the Order of the Impending Storm wrapped in the fog of Athenas, in fact, have attracted crowds of marauders and criminals intent on plundering their treasures and discovering their innermost secrets. The world of Athenas will, therefore, represent the most enigmatic setting of the entire shoot-out series of Borderlands, both in an exquisitely playful way (among the memorabilia recoverable on Athenas there will also be the powerful Eridian weapons ?) Which, one hopes, narrative, with different Main campaign missions set in the pagodas of this digital microcosm.
At the launch of Borderlands 3, scheduled for September 13 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it will be possible to explore three different regions of Athenas, namely Piazza Delle Tempeste, Il Rimpianto by Dido and La Cella : the rich post-launch support promised by Gearbox could multiply the number of visitable free roaming zones of this and the other alien worlds bordering on Pandora .
Athenas is mostly uninhabited, save for a sect of monks known as the Order of the Impending Storm. What secrets do they guard inside those ancient walls? #LetsMakeSomeMayhem
