THQ Nordic Hires the Co-Creator of Timesplitters

During the last financial report, THQ announced that it had acquired some development studies and offered news on Dead Island 2, although not too pleasant. Good news is also coming, especially for those who have enjoyed TimeSplitters.

This is a shooter saga developed by Free Radical, a study formed by former Rare employees already working on GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark on Nintendo 64, which was particularly loved by fans, despite being absent from the scenes for quite a while of time. The last chapter, in fact, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, dates back to the distant 2005, and there didn’t seem to plan on the horizon to resume the series.

But things could be about to change. Last year, THQ Nordic already acquired the intellectual property of the franchise, while today it is news of today the hiring of the co-creator of the series, Steve Ellis, who according to the announcement “joined the team to plan the franchise’s future”.

In short, it could finally be the right time for a great return of TimeSplitters. Is there any news coming already during the upcoming Gamescom, maybe even just at the ad or teaser level? Unlikely, but basically, a new chapter in the series has been missing for 14 years now, we can afford to wait a few more months.
