Bubble Bobble 4 Friends

While waiting for Gamescom 2019 to officially open its doors, the leaders of Taito Corporation reveal the project of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends, the new chapter exclusively for Nintendo Switch of this historic arcade platform series.

The chapter 4 Friends of Bubble Bobble will be entrusted to the loving care of ININ Games and will mark the return in great style of Taito on the international videogame scene. Behind the project of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends there is, therefore, the ambition of those who pera to realize a sequel worthy of the unforgettable classic of 1986, but lowering everything in a modern context through the adoption of a three-dimensional graphics engine but with mechanical gameplay that will remain two-dimensional. Following the mobile parentheses of Bubble Bobble Neo and Bubble Bobble Double, the series will thus return to embrace a context closer to its cabinet and home console origins.

As suggested by the name of the game itself, the distinctive element of 4 Friends will be represented by the possibility of facing the challenges within an unprecedented cooperative mode for up to 4 users, each selectable from a selection of old and new characters of the series. The announcement video gives us some scraps of gameplay related to the co-op that, presumably, will be accessible only locally.

The Western marketing of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is scheduled for November 19 this year, strictly exclusive to Nintendo Switch. The title can be purchased both in physical and digital edition through the eShop pages of the hybrid console of the Kyoto company.
