After the Need For Speed Heat, Electronic Arts has specified that the game will not have any type of Loot Box (prize funds), thus moving away from the microtransaction model seen in Need For Speed Payback. The game will still receive DLCs after the release.
“In Need For Speed Heat there will be no Loot Box and there will be none in the future,” said Electronic Arts Ben community manager “F8RGE” Walke during a Q&A session hosted on Need For Speed’s subReddit , confirming that the new chapter of the series will not receive any type of prize funds.
Need For Speed Heat will move away from the microtransaction model seen in Payback, where players could acquire new car upgrades by buying the prize boxes, with purely random rewards. A policy that the players didn’t like, and that Electronic Arts decided to remove from the new chapter of the upcoming series on PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 8th.
However, the title will still receive post-launch support thanks to the arrival of the DLC, which the publisher will not fail to publish after the game’s debut. Are you happy with the removal of the Loot Boxes?
