On the occasion of Gamescom 2019, the boys of The Coalition have finally revealed the technical requirements of the PC Windows 10 version of Gears 5, which will be distributed through the Microsoft Store. At the same time, pre-orders have been opened on Steam, another platform through which the game can be purchased.
From the product page on the Valve store, some very interesting details emerged. To begin with, as we have already reported, this edition of the title will also require connection to an Xbox Live account, a choice made necessary to guarantee cross-play between the two services. However, to really catch the eye is another detail: the Steam version of Gears 5 will also run on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit! Players who choose to buy it on the Microsoft Store (or download it thanks to Xbox Game Pass), on their part, must necessarily have Windows 10 with a May 2019 update.
The other requirements of the Steam version, on the other hand, are substantially equivalent. On Gabe Newell’s platform, users will also be able to benefit from collectible cards, achievements and cloud save. The release of Gears 5, we remember, is set for September 10th on Xbox One and PC, both on Microsoft Store and on Steam. Ultimate Edition buyers can start playing 4 days in advance. At the Gamescom were presented the campaign starring Kait and the inevitable Horde mode.
