The name of Quantic Dream, a studio of developers rather loved by gamers, is associated with titles that make the narrative aspect one of their fundamental characteristics. Just think of Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human to realize it.
Yet things could change in the future. The games in question, in fact, were mainly exclusive PlayStations, but in recent times the studio has managed to find an investor like NetEase who has given him new funds, thus allowing him to expand even beyond the boundaries of Sony, so much so that the above titles have also been released on PC. The same Detroit: Become Human will also arrive on PC by the end of the year.
Quantic Dream has become a multi-platform study in short and is also planning to start publishing games, both it’s own and from other studios, even if at the moment nothing has been confirmed. With all these changes, the study could also decide to explore new horizons and new genres. This was confirmed by Guillaume de Fondaumiere, co-founder of Quantic Dream.
Of course, it is not something that has already been decided, but the hypothesis of attempting some new road in the future is absolutely not to be excluded, above all for a studio of talent like that, that perhaps has the desire to try and prove its value also outside of their “comfort zone”.
What do you think? What would you like to see in the future by Quantic Dream?
