When it comes to racing games, Codemasters is almost always a guarantee. This is why the return of Grid, a car title quite appreciated at the time, is news that must surely keep the antennas well upright for fans of the genre.
During the Gamescom currently in progress, Chris Smith, game director of the game, has returned to talk about what we can expect from the reboot, confirming that the videogame will be the Grid that we have already known and appreciated, with a few touches and an extra push, given mainly from unpredictability.
“We want to make sure that people understand that this is the Grid that they know and love and that when it came out it renewed the genre. For us, motorsport, in general, is unpredictable and interesting. When I look at it, whether it’s on the spot live, or in “TV, I don’t know what’s going to happen. I don’t know what rivalries there will be, where risks will be taken, when mechanical failures will happen, for example. And for us, this unpredictability is Grid’s heart. We don’t want to make a video game where the cars challenge in the parade and overtake them slowly, but rather that each race seems different from the previous one, and is unpredictable precisely. And of course, you have fun competing, whether you finish first, tenths of thirds”.
Do you agree with his statements? The grid has been postponed recently and will be released on October 8th, 2019.
