This week, during Gamescom, Microsoft announced that Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition will be released on November 14 on PC. Many have wondered if the game will also come to Xbox One and the answer may not be entirely negative.
To reveal it is Adam Isgreen, creative director of the series: “at the moment we are engaged in creating the best possible RTS on PC. On Xbox One there is support for mouse and keyboard but not many players use suitable peripherals. Develop a console version it would mean redesigning the control system for the joypad. At the moment we have nothing to announce but we will try in some way to carry on this idea.“
No precise plan, therefore, but it is possible that the team can work hard to adapt a classic like Age of Empires II to the joypad control system, considering the game’s considerable popularity. Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition will be released on November 14, 2019, on PC available on Game Pass since its launch, this edition presents an improved technical section with 4K graphics and various gameplay improvements, as well as all the additional content published for the original edition of AOE2.
