Cyberpunk 2077: Map a Little Smaller Than the Witcher 3, but Denser

In an interview granted to the GamesRadar + colleagues during Gamescom 2019, the CD Projekt RED guys talked again about the dimensions of the game world of Cyberpunk 2077, the Night City megalopolis.

Producer Richard Borzymowski explained that as an extension, the map will be a little smaller than that offered by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. At the same time, in any case, it will be much denser. “If you consider the pure area in square kilometers, although Cyberpunk 2077 will be a little smaller than The Witcher 3, its density will be higher.” The producer has explained that it will be like taking the world of the witcher and compressing it, eliminating all the wildlands that are the glue between one settlement and another.

“Obviously, in The Witcher 3 we had an open world with many paths and forests between small settlements and big cities like Novigrad, but Cyberpunk 2077 is set in Night City. It is an integral part of the setting; essentially, it is as if it were the protagonist, therefore it must be denser. We would not have achieved the effect we wanted if it had not been credible, so we filled it with life, “ he added finally.

Cyberpunk 2077, we remember, is expected for April 16, 2020, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. On an undisclosed date, it will also arrive on Google Stadia. If you have not already done so, we advise you to save an important reminder on your calendar: the new gameplay video of Cyberpunk 2077 will be broadcast on August 30th!
