Cyberpunk 2077: Pondsmith Believed That Keanu Reeves Was Not Available to CD Projekt

It Will Be Possible to Complete Cyberpunk 2077 Without Killing Anyone

The announcement of Keanu Reeves’ participation in Cyberpunk 2077 has inflamed E3 2019, to the point that more than two months later we are still talking about it. The author of the original role-playing game, Mike Pondsmith, unveiled some interesting facts about the actor’s engagement at PCGamesN during Gamescom.

The CD Projekt RED guys waited a while before revealing their identity to Pondsmith: “They didn’t tell me right away who they were hiring. They just said: ‘We have an actor, we can’t tell you who he is until he comes to Warsaw, “he explained. Pondsmith periodically goes to the company’s studios to provide his supervision. While preparing for the trip, he discussed with his wife Lisa (who is in charge of their company’s business, R. Talsorian Games ) of the matter. The latter put forward the hypothesis Keanu Reeves, but Mike immediately dismissed the possibility stating ” It is far above their economic possibilities”.

The two, once in Warsaw, found CD Projekt RED developers eager to reveal the news to him: “They said before you revealed it, would you try to guess?” . At that point, his wife said, “It’s Keanu Reeves, isn’t it?”. The boys, at that point, remained stunned, since their surprise had not worked properly.

After that event, Mike and Lisa Pondsmith were able to watch Keanu Reeves’ motion capture sessions, being very impressed with his performance, even though the author has always imagined a very similar John Silverhand to David Bowie.

Before saying goodbye, let us remember that Cyberpunk 2077 will be published on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on April 16th, 2020. On a date not yet specified it will also arrive on Google Stadia. Don’t make appointments for August 30th: gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 will be shown!
