Discussing the Borderlands 3 plot with colleagues from PCGamesN, Gearbox producer Chris Brock explained that the adventure that awaits the new Hunter of the Crypt will remain in the groove traced by the other chapters, thus proposing a storyline with light-hearted tones with lots of full bars of humor.
During Gamescom 2019, Brock illustrated the vision of the company captained by Randy Pitchford and explained that “in the past we have acted in a certain way (regarding the plot and the humorous tones of the story, ed), but now that we talk about it and there we think a lot more we say ‘ok, we have this joke and we want it to be evaluated collegially. “You know, now the study is huge: we have 400 people in Dallas and 100 people in Quebec, so we have to ask ourselves how to behave to do in so that a joke is understood and accepted by all”.
Still with regards to the tones of the main campaign, and the black humor with which the Borderlands series deals with certain issues in the main campaign missions and in the secondary activities related to free-roaming, Chris Brock considers it appropriate to underline that in his team “everyone has a line personal and own opinion, but we must team up and understand that we must all do our best following the principle according to which we must be biting and amusing but also understanding, without being cruel or insensitive. We have a very diversified culture within the studio and they all want to represent it”.
Recently, the same leaders of Gearbox have defined the opening of a special team of authors and writers of the plot as the secret weapon of Borderlands 3: we’ll see. In the meantime, we leave you in the company of our study on the Endgame from Gamescom 2019 and we remind you that Borderlands 3 will be available starting September 13th on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
