Chernobylite: the gamescom extended video shows new horror adventure scenes

The Polish developers of The Farm 51 publish the extended version of Chernobylite’s horror-tinted gameplay video packaged with the Gamescom 2019 demo. The trailer allows us to admire an entire mission set in the ruins of the industrial complexes adjacent to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

In the approximately 17 minutes of game scenes immortalized in this video, the authors of Chernobylite illustrate the interventions made to give shape to a story centred on the actions carried out by a group of explorers intent on discovering the effects caused by the radioactivity emitted by the plant after the catastrophe from 1986. All of this, against the background of local legends that tell of the appearance of ghosts and creatures of the night coming from a dimensional portal that opened after the nuclear power plant accident.

To recreate the Alienation Zone, the European developers used the latest version of the Unreal Engine 4 and used a futuristic photogrammetry technique to scan buildings and natural scenarios.

The release date of the Chernobylite FPS horror has not yet been announced: the only information offered to us by the guys at The Farm 51 invites us to look at the second half of 2020 as the most probable launch window for their project that will land in exclusively on PC. The eventual transposition on consoles (presumably on PS4 and Xbox One, but also on PS5 and Xbox Scarlett ) will take place only if the title receives the success hoped by its developers and enthusiasts on the PC.
