Death Stranding: Kojima explains multiplayer by combining it with Spider-Man: A New Universe

Death Stranding in the Japanese Trailer, with a New Sequence and a Different Soundtrack

Among the many aspects that we do not yet know in detail about Death Stranding, the online multiplayer system adopted by Hideo Kojima’s Strand Game remains one of the greatest objects of mystery.

While it is true that we had a little taste of it in the latest gameplay video containing the cute cameo by Geoff Keighley, the multiplayer has not yet been shown in a very clear and extensive way by Kojima. The Japanese author, however, wanted to fix it, definitely in his own way, providing a brief description of what we will do as Sam Bridges :

“All I can say is that it’s an open world where players will quickly discover that the approach will be different, “ his statements. “It will be a difficult task and you will have to reconnect a divided society. You will do it with a character that has nothing to do with superheroes. Sam is alone and must survive, he has no special power. The more you play, the more you will notice that he is not “Unique in this situation. At launch, there will probably be millions of people playing and connecting to each other using something …”

This “something”, apparently, is due to the concept behind the acclaimed animated film Spider-Man: A New Universe :

“It resembles what happens to Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Miles thinks he’s the only Spider-Man, but several alternate-sized characters also become Spider-Man and meet: at the “Suddenly Miles is not alone. Of course, Death Stranding will be different, but it’s a clue to what the game is about.

We recall that Death Stranding will be published exclusively on PlayStation 4 on November 8, 2019.
