Gamescom 2019: record numbers for the Cologne fair and the Opening Night Live

Opening Night Live

The top management of Koelnmesse, the organizer of the Gamescom 2019 edition, celebrates the incredible success of the Cologne fair by revealing the number of participants and spectators of the opening show presented by Geoff Keighley.

During the German videogame festival just ended, approximately 373,000 tickets were sold for as many visitors from over 100 countries. The Cologne stands hosted and involved as many as 1,150 exhibiting companies, an 11% increase compared to Gamescom 2018.

Particularly interesting are the data recorded during the Opening Night Live: 1,500 spectators attended the opening show of the GC 2019 conducted and produced by Geoff Keighley and, above all, more than 500,000 videogame fans who watched the live in streaming transmitted on the main channels, and this without considering the other spectators who have chosen to enjoy the show of the ONL 2019 through the YouTube and Twitch channels of the many international news organizations rushed to the event.

In congratulating the organizers of the Gamescom 2019 for the excellent results achieved, we remind you that the 2020 edition of the Cologne fair will be held from Tuesday 25 August to Saturday 29 August next year. Before leaving you, we leave you on our special Gamescom 2019 card, with all the news, articles and in-depth videos from the German videogame festival.
