In the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu, it was announced that Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection will be released in Japan during the winter in PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC formats.
Announced in March during PAX East, the collection will also arrive in the West in 2020 on the same platforms, with the addition of the Xbox One family consoles. Digital Eclipse is working on the collection, which includes six games of the series with support for online multiplayer :
- Samurai Shodown
- Samurai Shodown II
- Samurai Shodown III Blades of Blood
- Samurai Shodown IV Amakusa’s Revenge
- Samurai Shodown V
- Samurai Showdown V Special
In addition to the individual games, there will also be a Museum mode with original artwork and sketches and a Sound Player mode to freely listen to all the soundtrack tracks. Undoubtedly a nice comeback for the series, the Samurai Shodown reboot released at the beginning of the summer was quite successful and SNK seems intent on continuing to carry on the brand, as it happened for The King of Fighters, with KOF XV already announced and in arrival between 2020 and 2021.
