SEGA Announces Yakuza 7, Will Have a JRPG Style Combat System

SEGA has made official the new episode of the Yakuza series, entitled Yakuza 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness. During a special event in progress in Japan, Game Director Toshihiro Nagoshi also revealed details about the gameplay and the setting.

Yakuza 7 will see Ichiban Kasuga as protagonist (already appeared in Yakuza Online) and will be set in Yokohama , the novelty linked to the combat system, now similar to that of a JRPG , is astonishing , as specified by Nagoshi himself: ” With Yakuza 6 we have reached perfection as for the traditional combat system, we wanted to try to innovate with something different, we hope the fans like it, otherwise we are ready to go back to our origins. “

Yakuza 7 is expected on PlayStation 4 for January 16, 2020, in Japan and Korea, but no confirmation regarding the western location, apparently always scheduled for next year. At the opening find the first trailer of the new Yakuza, we are waiting for precise information on the launch in Europe and North America and maybe video material in English.
