In less than two weeks Gears 5 will reach the shelves (physical and digital) of the stores, the release of the new episode of the series will mark the end of support for Gears of War 4, as confirmed by The Coalition.
The Canadian studio is preparing to support Gears 5 massively and this will inevitably lead to a reduction in the activities on the previous chapter: ” We are proud of what we have done in Gears 4 and we think we have done our best. In the last three years we have forged the foundations of Gears 5, we thank everyone for their support and we hope to continue to consider you a member of the Gears community “, with these words The Coalition thanks those who supported the project since its release (October 2016) allowing the game to be a great success.
As for the future, no new events are planned and the classified season will end on January 2020, replaced by new playlists for the Core and Competitive modes. From the same month, the penalties linked to the abandonment of the match and the objectives I Like Em Crispy and Better Than Bacon, as is known, linked to the events, will disappear.
The Gears of War 4 servers will remain open but it is clear that the goal of The Coalition is to facilitate the migration between the two games in the simplest and most painless way possible.
