Cyberpunk 2077: CD Projekt reveals a trick used to improve the graphics

Not content with the media hype aroused by his words about the size of the Cyberpunk 2077 map, CD producer Projekt RED Richard Borzymowski revealed a trick used by Polish authors to improve the graphics of Cyberpunk 2077 and the general look of Night City.

At USGamer, Borzymowski confirmed CD Projekt’s commitment to giving uniqueness and character to every single skyscraper and alley of the Cyberpunk 2077 megalopolis: to succeed in this endeavour, the authors of the software house that created The Witcher 3 success they had to adopt particular graphic ploys.

As the CD Projekt producer explains, in fact, “in order to maximize the visual quality you want to achieve, you are basically forced to load all the graphic assets you find yourself on the screen but also those that are not directly displayed. If you want to load everything, you would reach a lower graphics quality, and so we decided to adopt the vertical streaming of the assets. In doing so, when you look up you will see splendid skyscrapers and you could discover new secrets, and the same thing can happen if you find yourself already at the top and you will want to observe what is below”.

A little taste of this system of vertical streaming of assets and textures we could have it during the event to be held today, August 30, starting at 20:00 (GMT +2) with the new video gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 as a protagonist.
