DriveClub race cars are about to make their last lap on the PlayStation 4. As announced by Sony with an official statement released in late March, the famous driving game Evolution Evolution (with related expansion) will soon be removed from the PS Store together to DriveClub VR and DriveClub Bikes.
The deadline for the purchase of DriveClub by the users of PlayStation 4 interested in darting on the digital circuits of this ambitious arcade racing veined with simulation elements will be 00:59 (GMT +2) on Sunday 1st September.
The removal of DriveClub from the PS4 digital store will lead to the end of official support for the title, but not its final closure: those who want to try their hand at the challenges of multiplayer mode, in fact, will be able to continue to do so until 1 am on April 1st of 2020 .
The closing of the servers that will take place at the end of March next year will also result in the completion of updates to the rankings, of the social features and of the system in charge of acquiring the experience points for the Club. Who already owns the game, or decides to buy it own now on PS Store before it is removed from the catalogue, you can still have fun with the many activities of your career and with VR mode.
As for the reasons for this painful removal from the PS4 digital store, the former head of Evolution Studios Paul Rustchynsky expressed his opinion stating that this decision was taken by Sony by virtue of the failure to extend the licenses of the cars in the title. And you, what do you think of this painful choice? Also, use the comments form to share your opinion about it and, why not, your memories of DriveClub, one of the most loved (and at the same time criticized ) driving games of this generation.
