Konami recently announced its partnership with UEFA Euro 2020, a tournament that will give away the trophy won almost four years ago by Portugal. The European national teams of the tournament, therefore, will have their own team the eFootball PES 2020.
Furthermore, the content dedicated to Euro 2020 will be downloadable for free as DLC for eFootball PES in the spring of next year. The virtual European championship will feature fifty-five national teams of two to four players who will represent their country.
The tournament will start with the qualifications to be held this November, according to Forbes reports. The best teams will then qualify for the finals to be held in London from 9 to 10 July 2020 at Wembley Stadium.
This will take place a few days before the actual Euro 2020 real football final which will also take place at Wembley Stadium ( 12 July ). The winners of Euro 2020 will win a cash prize and also tickets for the grand final.
” eFootball will be played by tens of millions of people across the continent and we are pleased to offer the national teams the chance to represent their country on a bigger stage,” said UEFA marketing director Guy-Laurent Epstein. ” In recent years we have witnessed a massive growth in the popularity of eFootball and, of course, euro 2020 will give us the opportunity to get in touch with the new fans of virtual football. “
