Yesterday, SEGA announced Yakuza 7 Whereabouts of Light and Darkness ( Yakuza Like a Dragon in the West), a new episode of the series that distorts the comfort zone to which we were accustomed, proposing (among other novelties) a combat system JRPG style in turns.
A novelty that displaced the fans of the franchise, who obviously did not fail to make their voices heard, even with personal insults towards the Game Director Toshihiro Nagoshi, who did not, however, break up in front of the insults.
Nagoshi lets it be known that he is prepared for the offenses and has taken them into account, most of the negative judgments come from historical fans of the series, for this reason, Nagoshi considers them a real “act of love” and claims not to have repented of the choice. The project manager says that the goal of Team Yakuza is certainly not to create a boring game and the new combat system has been the subject of numerous studies with the aim of winning both hardcore players and mini experts.
Yakuza 7 will be released in Japan on January 16, 2020, exclusively on PS4, the launch in the West is scheduled for next year but a precise date has not yet been announced.
