It is controversial for the latest NBA 2K20 trailer dedicated to the MyTeam mode. While many companies are targeted for the implementation of loot boxes and other reward methods based on chance, 2K Games publishes an entire video dedicated to the mini-games featured in the title, which appear to have come directly from a casino.
Many have harshly criticized the new promotional film, which also boasts festive music in the background and NBA players who rejoice when fate turns on their side. There is roulette, a slot machine and much more: all objects that are part of the gambling imagination. Features of this type were already present in the previous titles of the series, but have always been linked to the currency obtainable by playing (MT), not to the one that can be purchased for real money (VC). It is reasonable to assume that this will also be the case in NBA 2K20.
However, many believe that this trailer glorifies gambling without bothering to make spectators understand that the intent is to advertise a sports simulation. It is therefore not surprising that after the criticism it was removed from official channels. Nevertheless, the video is still visible elsewhere, as you can see at the top of this news.
What do you think? Do you think 2K Games should have advertised its game in any other way? Recall that NBA 2K20 will be released on September 6 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. In the meantime, you can make the wait more pleasant by downloading the free NBA 2K20 demo (only for consoles).
