On the occasion of the Tokyo Game Show 2019, Atlus and SEGA have opened a website dedicated entirely to Mario & Sonic at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The curators of the portal have mistakenly published the complete list of the characters that we will be able to interpret in the new party game for Switch.
The involuntary leak of SEGA, still admirable on the Japanese-language portal, takes the form of a “placeholder” image that depicts the stylized icons of the protagonists of the new chapter of the sports series dedicated to the Olympics.
A quick analysis of the icons would reveal the faces of Nintendo heroes such as Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Bowser, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Bowser Jr., Diddy Kong, Toadette, Larry Koopa, Ludwig von Koopa, Rosalina Wendy O. Koopa. As for the characters from the SEGA videogame worlds, the leak suggests the presence of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Eggman (Dr. Robotnik), Shadow, Silver, Metal Sonic, Blaze, Vektor, Jet, Zavok, Zazz, Eggman Nega, Espio, and Rouge.
We, therefore, hope to receive as soon as possible an official confirmation or denial from the Japanese developers. Meanwhile, we remind you that Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will arrive exclusively on Nintendo Switch on November 8th. Since its launch, as discovered during Gamescom, we will be able to challenge ourselves with the retro salsa challenges of Classic 2D Events, with graphics inspired by 8-bit consoles and the legendary NES party games.
