An article dedicated to Activision and published in Barron’s, a financial publication, has rekindled the hopes of the videogame community linked to the two IPs.
In discussing the success of World of Warcraft Classic and expectations about the future success of the Company’s activities. In addition to mentioning the future Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, however, the article has a rather intriguing reference to the future of Activision. After having highlighted how the 2019 publications could achieve better commercial results than initially planned, the following is stated: ” The Company also has sequels planned for its other blockbuster franchises – Overwatch and Diablo – for the next few years“. The short passage, as expected, has attracted the attention of several observers, reawakening rumors related to the two IPs that have already spread.
Over the last few months, there has been no lack of rumors related to the development of Overwatch 2 and to the existence of Diablo 4. Both franchises have in fact been the protagonists of several rumors, of which, however, an official confirmation has never reached. To date, in fact, Activision has not shared announcements linked to an Overwatch 2 or a Diablo with the videogame community 4: to know what’s in store, all that remains is to wait patiently for communications.
