Surprisingly, Dante’s arrival on Switch was announced during Nintendo Direct in September: the famous Capcom character will return to the hybrid console not with the recent Devil May Cry V, but with Devil May Cry 2, originally released in 2003 on PlayStation 2.
This is the official synopsis released by Capcom and Nintendo: ” Dance once again with the devil. Set after the events of Devil May Cry, this sequel introduces more techniques into Dante’s arsenal to lead you to new heights of style. Use the race to the wall to reach an advantageous position, then attack your enemies with a barrage of fire using Rain Storm.
Reinterpret the role of Dante, or choose Lucia, the new femme fatale who prefers daggers to bullets and makes the most of her speed with lightning-fast reflexes. Increase the Devil Trigger bar, then assume the appearance of a demon with maximized powers and speed. In the form of a demon, Dante and Lucia can use the Devil Hearts, amulets that give them special powers, such as the ability to fly, super-speed or even the ability to slow down time. Devil May Cry 2 also introduces an unlockable bonus mode, Bloody Palace, in which players are called to gain red orbs by defeating successive waves of enemies. “
Devil May Cry 2 for Nintendo Switch will be released on September 19 in digital format downloadable from eShop, for sale at a price not yet announced but probably equal to 19.99 euros.
