Following the heated controversy largely due to the transition from Steam to Epic Games Store, Ys Net decided to grant dissatisfied users reimbursement of the PC version of Shenmue 3.
Thanks to a ResetEra user who posted the email personally received from the software house on the forum, we then find out all the details related to the repayment operation. The requests of the players who contributed to the crowdfunding campaign can be sent from mid-September, and for a time limit of two weeks. Users will be free to switch to the PlayStation 4 version of the game, or directly request reimbursement of the PC edition. It is also specified that the waiting times for the actual monetary transaction may extend from a minimum of 20 days to a maximum of 3 months. Further details on specific operations will be sent via future mails by Ys Net.
We remind readers that Shenmue 3 will be available on PC and PlayStation 4 starting November 19, 2019. In recent weeks, Yu Suzuki, the historic director of the series, has discussed the longevity and difficulty levels of his new game. The author has also confirmed that he already has plans for Shenmue 4 in mind, but it will only be possible thanks to the financial support of a publisher.
