CD Projekt RED confirmed earlier this week that Cyberpunk 2077 will have multiplayer (coming after launch), also revealed that the game will be supported with a series of free DLCs for a long time. All right then? Not exactly.
As often happens in these cases, the CD Projekt RED social profiles have been taken by assault by particularly angry users, who accuse the Polish studio of wasting time behind a useless feature in such a game. Many are worried about the quality of the experience and fear that the company will follow the model of Rockstar Games that massively supports GTA Online and Red Dead Online at the expense of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, which have not yet received single-player expansions.
Then there are those who fear that the implementation of multiplayer has taken away resources from the development of the campaign but this will not be the case, as CD Projekt has already confirmed that the multiplayer will enter development at full capacity only after having finished the work on single mode. There are also those who fear that the Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer can be peppered with microtransactions and generally driven by an economic system designed solely to earn money without too much effort, to the detriment of the players.
Unable to comment at the moment, as there are no details on the Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer segment, at the moment the Polish team has reiterated that it is ” working to ensure the best single-player experience possible. ”
I must be the only one in the world who doesn't want this, considering this probably took time and resources away from developing the single player experience further.
Unless this was just an outsource job..
