The Joy-Con is one of the characteristic elements of the Nintendo Switch: the peculiar and versatile controllers can, in fact, interact with the console in multiple modes.
Precisely these are the absolute protagonists of an intriguing Japanese patent filed long ago by the House of Kyoto, but which has only recently become accessible. The document contains some interesting images, which depict partially folding Joy-Con, whose upper end can be tilted by the players. This version of Nintendo controllers is presented as usable both with the console in portable mode and in-home mode. To get an idea of the particular design, you can take a look at the images you find at the bottom of this news, taken from the patent card.
To date, the Kyoto House has not offered any confirmation of the desire to realize this specific version of the Nintendo Switch controllers, which have never been presented to the public. Moreover, it should be remembered that patented products are not always actually put into production and marketed. What do you think, would you like Joy-Con characterized by this peculiar format? In closing, we point out that recently Nintendo instead presented the SNES-style Joy-Con, announced together with the arrival of the first SNES games on Nintendo Switch.
