During the month of August, preceded by several rumours, the official announcement of the arrival of Ori and the Blind Forest on Nintendo Switch came from the House of Kyoto.
The production of Moon Studios, previously available exclusively from Microsoft, is, therefore, preparing to land on a new platform. The news was greeted with enthusiasm by the Nintendo community, with many gamers who saw hope for a future arrival on the hybrid console also by Ori and the Will of the Wisps. However, it appears that there are no plans to launch the highly anticipated sequel on Nintendo Switch. This is confirmed by the House of Redmond, through Aaron Greenberg. During an interview granted to MCV, the latter reiterated that the publication of other exclusive Microsoft products on PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch is not included in the company’s programs. And Ori and the Will of the Wisps will be no exception: the launch of the game is expected ” exclusively on Xbox One and on PC“.
During the interview, Aaron Greenberg also shared some interesting background information regarding the choice of bringing Ori and the Blind Forest to Nintendo Switch. According to reports, this desire was expressed by the developers of Moon Studios themselves: “I came to you with the desire to bring the original Ori to Nintendo Switch. […] We understand their desire […], and in this particular case we were happy to support them, and we think it makes sense for the original Orient “.
