The Outer Worlds, a new IP developed by the guys from Obsidian, is preparing to enter the market and the team offers interesting statements about what could be the future.
In an interview granted to the editorial staff of VGC, Megan Starks, the game’s Narrative Designer, commented on the possibility that The Outer World could turn into a real series. A possibility raised some time ago by Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios. During the month of August, the latter had in fact raised the possibility of making The Outer Worlds a lasting franchise.
Obsidian, who recently joined the Microsoft family, seems to be enthusiastic about the support and trust that the Redmond company is giving to the software house. When asked to comment on the hope expressed by Booty, Starks said: ” I think it depends on whether people will appreciate the game, but we would be absolutely interested in plans like this, yes. I really enjoyed making this game, so I would like to work another game bit […] “. Moreover, the Narrative Designer continued, the team already has ” an entire universe of lore ” at its disposal.
The Outer Worlds will land on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 25th. The Obsidian game is also expected on Nintendo Switch.
