On the occasion of the Tokyo Game Show, currently in full swing, the editors of VGC had the opportunity to discuss various topics with Max Pears, a level designer engaged in the creation of Cyberpunk 2077.
During the interview, CD Projekt Red member offered interesting evaluations on the approach that the software house has chosen to adopt in relation to the personalization and representation of the protagonist within the game world. ” We want to be really sure that the players get the representation they want, ” Pears begins, pointing out that this is an element of great importance for the software house, as well as for the lore of the game. During the creation of their own videogame alter-ego, players will be able to select a type of body : later, the customization options will allow you to freely choose amale or female voice , without predefined constraints. ” We have the type of body you select and the genital organs will be determined by that – says Pears – You can have a male or female voice with each body, but the genital apparatus is defined by the body “.
CD Projekt Red’s efforts in terms of representativeness of its alter-ego also include specific choices regarding the behavior of NPCs. The latter, Pears reports, will mostly refer to our character simply as ” V “, thus calling it by proper name, which cannot be changed: “That was our focus: your version of V is your version as a player and that’s how you will turn to it in the game. “The romance available to the player within the world of Cyberpunk 2077, confirms CD Projekt, will not be limited only to heterosexual options. In closing, we point out that the Polish software house has also recently discussed the care taken in the design of the missions: four different types of quests will be available in Cyberpunk 2077, and some of the secondary missions will be able to modify the main plot.
