With Dead Cells, the Motion Twin developers have managed to break into the hearts of the players have created a game inspired by the graphic and artistic profile and extremely satisfying on the gameplay side.
Given the success, Motion Twin has understandably decided to continue supporting its arcade game for a long time, but the development team is already looking forward to the future of the franchise and begins to imagine a possible sequel.
“From an artistic point of view, there is a limit to what we can do” , said Steve Filby of Evil Empire in a recent interview, a studio that was entrusted with the next additional content of the game, while Motion Twin focuses on projects not yet announced. “I think there will be at least two more years of content for the base game. Maybe then we’ll do Dead Cells 2 or a multiplayer version of the game. Maybe we’ll make the Dead Cells version of Hollow Knight, a real Metroidvania game. We have a lot of funny ideas that we could pursue”.
And what would you prefer for the future of Dead Cells? A simple sequel, or a more extravagant expansion, perhaps focusing on the online multiplayer sector?
Dead Cells is now available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS devices.
