Clarified the question of romance between V and Keanu Reeves (in the “holographic form” of Jonny Silverhand), the authors of CD Projekt RED discussed the nature of the Cyberpunk 2077 missions and remarked an important concept that, although it was already expressed in the past, deserved to be reiterated.
Through the pages of the official forum of the Polish software house, Philipp Weber explained, as coordinator of the company’s Quest Designer team, that “every mission of the game will be done by hand. For us, quality is always more important than quantity and we could not reach the high standards that we have set ourselves through the use of pre-assembled modules that lead to the simple creation of random missions. We do not want people to spend their time mechanically, we want to offer them interesting missions that are really worth the worth facing”.
Weber also stresses that “we are building a large open-world role-playing video game, but although our missions are all hand-made, this does not mean that we will develop a few. In reality, there will be many, so that players can enjoy themselves for many hours”.
Weber’s statements, therefore, go in the direction indicated by Maciej Petras : as early as January of this year, in fact, the author of the cinematic scenes of Cyberpunk 2077 has publicly spent to confirm the will of CD Projekt to build a game world completely “hand-drawn”, from the buildings of the dystopian megalopolis of Night City to the same missions to be faced in the role of V. Starting from April 16th 2020 , that is from the launch date of Cyberpunk 2077 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Google Stadia, we will understand to what extent the Polish authors have gone so far as to create original missions and extend the longevity of the title without resorting to procedural quests .
