A year after the arrival of the first games in the catalog, Discord announced its intention to close its Nitro subscription service starting next month. This is a Premium subscription whose users had a catalog of over 100 games available including the acclaimed Dead Cells.
According to what was stated in the explanations post by the company, however, the vast majority of subscribers to the messaging platform did not use such games, so the renewal of licenses and contracts related to the gaming part would prove to be only an unnecessary expense.
“We have learned so much from all of you over the past year. Through your valuable feedback, it has become clear that while we and some of you love these games, the truth is that most Nitro subscribers didn’t play with it,” it reads in the company blog post.
This is why when these agreements expire, the company has decided to cancel the service, so the games will no longer be available. The change will be effective starting from October 15th, but before that, all those who had subscribed because they were also interested in the part relating to video games, will have the opportunity to request a refund.
To do this, Discord has made available a page on its official website, to which we refer you.
