In February 2019 Nioh had reached 2.5 million copies distributed on PlayStation 4 and PC, as reported by analyst Daniel Ahmad (known as ZhugeEx on Twitter and ResetERA) this figure has grown in recent months.
To date, 2.75 million units of the game have been distributed , it is important to reiterate that these are copies distributed to retailers and not actually sold to customers, in any case, a more than discreet result for a medium-budget project, published in Japan by Koei- Tecmo and in the West by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Numbers that have evidently justified the production of a sequel, Nioh 2 will arrive in the first few months of 2020, to date the only platform announced is PlayStation 4 but it is not excluded that the title may arrive in the future also on PC, as happened with the first chapter.
The new Nioh will be a prequel, as we discovered at the Tokyo Game Show 2019, we recently had the chance to try a demo of Nioh 2, a build that gave us positive feelings despite a technical area not particularly evolved and a gameplay with little news but without of particular revolutions, based on a now widely tested formula. In any case, there are still a few months to launch and there is plenty of time to improve.
