During the month of September, the CD Projekt Red team confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a multiplayer mode. This, however, will not be available when the game is launched: that’s why.
The Polish software house returned to the topic during the Tokyo Game Show, during which the VGC editorial staff had the opportunity to talk with the level designer Max Pears. The latter expressed some interesting considerations on the process of designing and defining the multiplayer segment of Cyberpunk 2077, highlighting the key needs identified by CD Projekt Red.
Among these, the need is highlighted for the multiplayer mode ” to adapt to the lore ” of the game world. But not only, but Pears also underlines the team’s desire to create something that reflects the identity of the software house, and in particular the way in which CD Projekt creates and distributes its own creations. The process of creating Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer is, currently still in progress: ” We still have work to do and we are hiring to make sure we have the right people for the job. Currently the main focus is still the single-player [. ..] “.
For now, the Polish software house has not yet formalized the exact date in which the multiplayer sector will be added to Cyberpunk 2077, whose market debut, set for April 16, 2020, is still quite far. Recently, CD Projekt Red shared interesting details on the four types of Cyberpunk 2077 quests.
