Super Mario Odyssey: 2 million copies sold in Japan

Super Mario Odyssey

Super Mario Odyssey, an exclusive Nintendo Switch that made its debut at sunset in 2017 (October 27th), enjoys a success that shows no sign of abating. As reported by Famitsu, Odyssey has reached 2 million copies sold!

The sales data, revealed by Famitsu and based on the rankings concerning only Japanese territory, are related to the physical copies sold of the last chapter of the historic Nintendo saga. The goal of 2 million is therefore even more impressive, taking into account that in the number of digital copies, there is no trace in these rankings.

But Super Mario Odyssey is not the only title to have achieved this important result; in this special ranking are already the likes of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, all available for the small hybrid console from Nintendo. Odyssey also recorded another important milestone last February: recording the impressive 13.67 million units distributed since its launch, it is the 3D chapter of the best-selling series of all time.

During the year the Super Mario Odyssey gaming experience has improved thanks to the Theater Mode (also available in VR). Furthermore, for the most ardent fans of Odyssey, let us remember that Dark Horse Comics announced the official Artbook of The Super Mario Odyssey, composed of 386 pages, whose release is scheduled for next October 22nd.
