The well-known market analyst Mat Piscatella, one of the most representative faces of NPD Group, shared the list of those that at the end of 2019 will be the best-selling games in the United States.
According to Piscatella, it will once again be the brand of Call of Duty to excel overall thanks to the imminent arrival of the promising Modern Warfare COD. To complete the podium, we find NBA 2K20 and Madden NFL 20, but below we present the hypothetical complete version (digital sales are not included):
- Call of Duty: Moder Warfare
- NBA 2K20
- Madden NFL 20
- Borderlands 3
- Mortal Kombat 11
- Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
- Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint
- Kingdom Hearts 3
- Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
- Sword Pokémon
If the triumph of Modern Warfare were to be found in reality, it would be the ninth time in eleven years when a title from the Call of Duty series became the best-selling game of the year.
As for the hardware sector, Piscatella predicts that the growth of Nintendo Switch will not be able to overshadow the slow but inexorable decline of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that are about to leave space for their respective successors PS5 and Xbox Scarlett. In fact – adds the analyst – software sales will be substantially decisive for the videogame industry, which as said is moving towards a phase of generational transition.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is predicted as 2019's best-selling game, the 9th time a Call of Duty game would lead in sales over the past 11 years. 7 of the top 10 predicted best-sellers launch in 2H. pic.twitter.com/tbg1Xe0Mba
