COD: Modern Warfare found references to the Battle Royale in the Open Beta for PC

With the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Open Beta now available on all platforms, it is hardly surprising that players have begun to browse through the PC version files. What they have discovered is really interesting: although it has always been excluded by the developers, it seems that there is also a Battle Royale mode.

The leak mentions the location of the map, several usable objects and also a game currency, called Plunder. The places have names quite common, such as Bank, Hospital, Weapons Shop, Police Station, Service, Gulag station and so on. Among the items found are the classic medikit, the armor and even alcohol, which according to leakers could serve as an energy drink as in PUBG or as a painkiller. The loot is also characterized by levels of a rarity with different colors, mechanics now widespread in all games of this type. The Plunder instead it seems to be a currency obtainable on the battlefield, even if it is not clear if it can be used directly during matches (as in the deceased Radical Heights) or between rounds.

We would like to clarify that none of the above information can be considered official, therefore we advise you to take them as simple rumors. Infinity Ward has never confirmed the inclusion of a Battle Royale mode, merely reporting that it is focused on developing classic multiplayer modes. We’ll see.

Meanwhile, the multiplatform Open Beta continues, dedicated to testing the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare cross-play features. The full game launch is scheduled for October 25 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
