The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening for Switch grabs the first position of the UK Charts ousting Borderland 3 from the top step of the podium in its debut week, undoubtedly a good result for the new Nintendo exclusive.
The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening is now the best launch of a remake of Zelda by Grezzo in the UK, having sold 27% more than The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D for Nintendo 3DS, released way back in 2011. Yes to date it is Zelda’s third game to debut at the top of the UK charts, behind The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker (2003) and The Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time (1998).
The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening has also become the fastest-selling Switch game of the year in the UK, surpassing Super Mario Maker 2. Link’s Awakening’s success also boosted the Breath of the Wild sales by 22% compared to the previous week.
