GungHo Entertainment today unveiled the launch date set for Grandia HD Remaster and Grandia 2 HD Remaster in the PC version. The titles will be available individually in the Steam pages.
The remastered versions of Grandia 1 and Grandia 2 will debut on October 15th and, unlike what happened on Nintendo Switch, where the games are offered in a single package (the Grandia HD Collection, available from August 16th), the titles will be sold separately. Grandia 2 is already available on Steam under the name Grandia 2 Anniversary Edition. Well, starting October 15, the game will be updated to the new version, taking the name of Grandia 2 HD Remaster.
Grandia HD Remaster and Grandia 2 HD Remaster will not present localization in Italian; interface, voices, and subtitles will be available in English. Enhanced content features, textures and sprites, multiple user interface changes, customizable resolution, and widescreen support. The announcement of the date of publication of the remastered versions of the first two chapters of the series was also an opportunity, for GungHo, to announce a new patch for the Grandia HD Collection, available exclusively on Nintendo Switch, although the changes that will not be made have still been revealed by the publisher.
The first historic Grandia was developed in 1997 by Game Arts for Sega Saturn. The title was later released on the first PlayStation in March 2000, before appearing on the pages of PlayStation Store in 2010 (PlayStation 3 and PSP).
