Deck 13 tries again with The Surge 2: the authors of Lords of the Fallen and of the first chapter, recur with an ambitious sequel to this futuristic soulslike sci-fi. And when we have finally reached the day one of the game, the first reviews of the specialized press also arrive online.
The Surge 2 seems to do well enough to judge by the votes: the highest is a 4.5 out of 5 assigned to him by Attack of the Fanboy, while the others settle between 7 and 8. Let’s see them together in detail.
- IGN – 7.6
- Gamespot – 8
- Gamesradar + – 3.5 / 5
- Attack of the Fanboy – 4.5 / 5
- RPG Site – 7
- Press Start – 7.5
- Wccftech – 8
- Easy Allies [Video] – 7.5
The title of Deck 13 is getting good results, but it could certainly have done more. The usual mechanic remains, so we must look for the weak points of the opponent and hit them, then try to dismember the body parts to get the piece of armor we are looking for, for example (in the new trailer of The Surge 2 this feature is also highlighted in time to music), which always turns out to be a rather effective method, but perhaps for such an ambitious title it lacks that bit of extra personality that would have made it make the definitive leap in quality.
What do you think? Do you agree with the first reviews?
