Mario Kart Tour wins the App Store, despite the controversy over the Gold Pass

Mario Kart Tour

The Mario Kart Tour, the new Nintendo mobile game released on September 25th on iPhone and Android smartphones, is off to a good start. On the App Store, the game debuted at the top of the list of the most downloaded free apps in 58 countries, including Japan and the United States.

In the United States currently Mario Kart Tour is the nineteenth most informative app: to make a comparison, in the same ranking Dr. Mario World , released in July, debuted at the number 503 position. Despite the good success however Mario Kart Tour did not record the best launch for a Nintendo app, still firmly in the hands of Fire Emblem Heroes , which reached the 17th position in the debut ranking in February 2017.

Mario Kart Tour is currently available on iOS and Android all over the world except for China, the first reviews are positive despite complaints about the presence of the Gold Pass, a special ticket ( from the price of 5.49 euros ) which gives access to 200cc mode and other bonus content, just like a normal season pass for a PC or console game. In any case, the start is definitely positive and soon Nintendo should also introduce multiplayer with a free update.
