COD: Modern Warfare Infinity Ward responds to fierce fan criticism

Infinity Ward is not having a good time. As he continues to work hard to finish the development of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, whose release date is coming closer and closer, the team has become the target of fierce criticism from the user, who has not seen good eye the temporal exclusivity of the Survival Mode on PS4.

As if this were not enough, the climate was further exacerbated when a series of rumours – not yet confirmed or denied – began to circulate, according to which in the final game there will be loot boxes containing weapons, as well as cosmetic objects. The official social profiles and the sub-Reddit dedicated to the game were filled with complaints and, in many cases, insults against the developers.

No wonder, then, that Studio Art Director Joel Emslie wanted to have his say on the subject. In a post published on Reddit, he started by asking the most critical users to “stop for a moment to think of all those involved in the production of the game who come to take a look at the subreddit by reading the comments”.

He went on: “We are an assorted group of nerds, jerks and everything in between. It’s fantastic, we get along and every day we get together to create something we believe in. We founded our careers on one goal, to be the best in what we do and do our best to make the best game possible. I don’t know why, but while checking the sub-Reddit for useful feedback and observations … I found some ultra-toxic comments that talk about how much I do be incompetent and stupid, and where should I go to not hurt people with my bad ideas and my bad artwork “.

Emslie firmly believes that players’ opinions are very important, but not when they lead to attacks and insults. He also asked users to keep in mind “that there is a group of human beings in Infinity Ward”, and that “they too can have a bad day”. Finally, he specified that players should learn to distinguish official communiqués from rumours“Focus on truthful information and do not let yourself be influenced by people who want to make a name for themselves by spreading inconclusive rumours” , clearly referring to YouTuber TheGamingRevolution, which has spread the word about the presence of weapons in the loot boxes. Officially, Infinity Ward has not even confirmed the presence of the prize funds. In greeting you, we remind you that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 25th.
