The company that organizes DreamHack for decades has announced that both the DreamHack Winter and the DreamHack Anaheim editions will host Fortnite tournaments. Both tournaments will offer a prize pool of $250,000.
The DreamHack Winter will take place in Jönköping, Sweden, from November 29th to December 1st and the Anaheim DreamHack will take place from February 21st to 23rd 2020.
Marcus Lindmark, co-CEO of DreamHack, analyzed both events: ” We are very happy to be able to bring this huge tournament to our festivals. With the support of Epic Games, we are writing the story of DreamHack by organizing the biggest tournaments dedicated to the community. The moment could not be more favorable given that we celebrate the 25th anniversary of DreamHack “.
As stated in the release, DreamHack Winter will be the largest Fortnite tournament ever held in the Nordic countries. The DreamHack Anaheim tournament will also claim the place as the largest community tournament ever held at a DreamHack event in the United States.
The tournament will be played using Fortnite’s Solo mode. In short, despite some changes in the battle royale have left fans and players less enthusiastic than in the recent past (at least, until the finals of the World Cup ), Fortnite still appears surrounded by great participation and by a lot of hype. In addition to, of course, lots of money.
