Epic Games has announced that the Fortnite servers will be offline on the morning of Wednesday 2 October to allow developers to prepare the game for the arrival of the 10.40.1 update, available today.

The Fortnite servers will go offline at 10:00 (GMT +2) and will remain inaccessible for about two hours, at the end of the maintenance the developers will publish the new patch, which will be larger than normal on Nintendo Switch, as confirmed by Epic in a Tweet.

The 10.40.1 Fortnite update should add new items like skins, spines and hang gliders as well as fix bugs and technical problems to prepare the ground for the new season. It is as expected of a minor update that will not upset the Epic game but will be limited to making improvements and corrections to the Real, Creative and Save the World Battle modes.

In recent days, a leak has revealed Fortnite’s Halloween content and the special event dedicated to the scariest party of the year, it is unlikely that this could make its appearance today, in all probability Halloween will be one of the themes of Fortnite Season 11, starting in mid-October. Recently the P-1000 Package inspired by Iron Man made its appearance in the shop, with new challenges and exclusive objects.
