Persona 5 Royal, the new exclusive version for PS4 and PS4 Pro of the popular Atlus title, could finally have a Western release date. While in fact the game will be released at the end of the month in Japan, in Europe and North America we were anchored to a still too generic “Spring 2020”.
The news emerged thanks to the November 2019 Game Informer issue, now on sale, in which the magazine interviewed the game’s character designer, Shigenori Soejima. In the introduction to the interview, the release date of Persona 5 Royal is shown at “March 2020”, and a Twitter user posted a Twitter screenshot of the fragment of the article in question.
There is always the possibility that this is a mistake in the magazine, but if this were not the case we would certainly have a narrower launch window than before, and it would also be good news, given that the delay compared to the Japanese release would not be so excessive.
Persona 5 Royal adds new characters to the game and expands the original story, as well as adding 4K support on the PS4 Pro. Sony has even announced a PS4 and PS4 Pro themed Persona 5 Royal version, which could appeal to many fans.
