Pokemon Shield and Sword will not have selectable difficulty levels

Pokémon Sword and Shield: The Winner of the Uniqlo Contest Is Disqualified

Pokemon Sword and Shield are the protagonists of the November issue of Game Informer USA and as expected the producers Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori were subjected to the usual 101 quick questions … that’s what they declared!

Focusing on the difficulty level, the total absence of selectable difficulty levels is confirmed, Pokemon Sword and Shield will not have various levels of difficulty or other options to make the game easier or more difficult. The developers have worked hard to better balance the difficulty while keeping the game accessible to all but without giving up a high degree of challenge for players who already have experience with the Pokemon series.

Ohmori and Masuda also confirmed that Pokemon Sword and Shield will have 18 gyms and an automatic rescue system that will avoid losing valuable progress if you forget to save the game. Pokemon Sword and Shield will be available from November 15 on Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite together with a bundle with the custom console.
